Understanding your site score

This score isn't about judgement - it's about insight. I use it to highlight what's working well and what could be improved to make your site faster, more accessible, and easier to use.

What your score means

How Your Site Score Works

We don't just make up numbers. Your score is based on a detailed review of your website across four key areas:

1. Performance

We measure how fast your site loads, how well it scores in Google's Core Web Vitals tests (on mobile and desktop), and whether images and scripts are optimised. Sites that load slowly or are bloated with unnecessary assets lose points here.

2. Accessibility

This section looks at how usable your site is for everyone, including disabled users. We test things like colour contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and semantic HTML. Even small issues can affect users, so they impact your score.

3. UX and Usability

This score covers the overall user experience. Is it easy to find information? Does it work well on a phone? Are buttons and links obvious? If the site feels clunky or confusing, the score drops.

4. Content

We look at whether your content is clear, well-structured, and accessible. This includes tone, structure, SEO basics like title/meta tags, and whether users can quickly understand what your business does.

How your score is calculated

Your score is based on five key areas. Each one is reviewed manually and scored individually, then combined to give an overall result out of 100.

I don't use automated tools or generic scores. This is a manual review by someone who builds websites for a living. Here's how the total score is broken down:
