Introducing Becket: bookings and jobs for small service businesses

A shared view of the booking, the customer and the work that needs doing, built for small service teams.

Becket is a platform I'm developing to bring bookings, schedules, customer records, jobs and quotes together for small service businesses. It gives the team a shared view of what is booked, who is doing it and what needs to happen next Source 1 .

Becket is in early access, with setup supported through a conversation about the business and its working day. Garages, workshops, trades and growing service teams are the kinds of businesses it is designed to help.

A calendar only tells part of the story

A diary can show when a customer is coming in. The information behind that appointment may still be scattered across messages, spreadsheets and the person who last spoke to them. What work was requested? Which quote was agreed? Who has the skills and equipment to do it?

I'm building Becket to keep that context close to the booking. A change to the working day should not mean reconstructing the customer's story from several separate places.

From booking request to the work itself

  1. Offer the service. Customers use the business's separate Becket booking page to choose the work they need and request a suitable time.
  2. Plan around capacity. Availability can account for opening hours, staff working hours, required skills, equipment and existing bookings.
  3. Keep the details connected. The team can follow the booking through its customer record, job, quote and activity history.

The service requirements matter as much as an empty space in the diary. A workshop job may need a particular person and a piece of equipment; another business may organise its services around different working patterns. Becket lets the business configure the services, people and resources involved.

Share the day without losing oversight

Adding another worker creates capacity and more schedules to coordinate. A common view of bookings and jobs helps the team see the work without sending every question back to the owner. Roles, permissions and activity history support sharing responsibility while keeping oversight of changes.

The early-access offer

The current monthly plans are Solo at £29 for one staff member, Team at £59 for up to three, and Business at £119 for up to ten. Annual subscriptions cover 12 months for the price of ten, and no VAT is currently charged. Prices and plan details may change before public launch, so confirm the current offer with Becket.

Every plan covers the core booking, scheduling and customer workflow, with jobs and quotes for business types that use them. Team adds a business logo and brand colours on customer pages; Business has the same features with room for more staff. Early-access setup is supported, rather than assuming a business can configure everything on its own.

How your website fits in

Your marketing website explains the business and helps customers decide whether to get in touch. Becket supplies the separate booking page and the tools used to manage the work. Clear links can take a customer from the website to the right booking page.

The optional Crayons & Code website offer for Becket customers is agreed separately, with its own scope and eligibility terms. You can use Becket with an existing website, and you do not need both services.

Ask about early access

Start with how you handle bookings today, who or what needs scheduling, and where the administration gets difficult. That gives us a useful basis for discussing whether Becket fits your work and what setup would involve.
